How to Celebrate National Fruit & Vegetable Month

June is National Fruit & Vegetable Month, and there is no better time than the summer to get back on track, eat healthy, or even start a whole new health journey. Here are a few tips on how to consume more fruits and vegetables throughout your day!

Change the way you cook vegetables.

Do you steam your vegetables in the microwave or eat them raw? To switch things up, change the entire flavor of the vegetable by baking them, roasting them on the stove, or even throw them in an air fryer. Experimenting with different methods of cooking may make you realize you don’t dislike vegetables after all! Try out different kinds of seasonings as well to give your veggies some zest!

Hide fruits and vegetables in dishes you love.

Who said you had to give up your favorite foods to eat healthier? Not us! Have you ever heard of a healthy pizza packed with protein and fresh veggies? Nutracelle is here to the rescue! Check out thisrecipe for keto mini pizzas made with ourNutralean protein powder. The best thing about pizza? You can top it with whatever you want. Top your mini pizzas with fresh vegetables like peppers, broccoli, and cauliflower!

Meal prep.

If you’re always on the go or if you have kids running around, it can be hard to set aside time to roast up yummy vegetables. Instead of taking time everyday to cook, consider meal prepping at the beginning of the week! Buy your vegetables in bulk, roast a sheet pan of chicken with the veggies, and store in containers for the week. Do the same thing for your fruit. Cup up enough for the week and store in tupperware. This way, when you’re ready to whip up your healthy lunch or dinner, you have everything prepped, portioned, and ready to eat. Eating healthy can be fast and simple!

Make a smoothie.

Blending together your favorite fruits and veggies is the ultimate example of making healthy food taste good! Choose 2-4 fruits and 1-2 vegetables to throw in your blender. (The sweet fruits will mask any flavor of the vegetables). Try strawberries and raspberries with kale, or bananas and mango with spinach. Top your smoothie with your favorite milk, nut butter, or even a protein powder! Looking for more inspiration?
