Are you tired of buying fresh fruits and veggies only to have them go bad in your fridge? Sometimes we have the best of intentions at the grocery store but life gets in the way and before you know it... you're adding to the compost bin and bitterly regretting the money you spent. That's why we're excited to create low-effort, fast recipes using common household ingredients you probably have on-hand. Today's feature recipe is the perfect way to use up those carrots in your fridge in a delicious, fun way!
Whole Carrots or Baby Carrots?
You don't have to use fresh-from-the-garden carrots, grab that bag of baby carrots and chop each one in half. We recommend patting them with paper towel if they're too wet. If you're using whole carrots, to get the perfect french-fry cut: chop the carrots in thirds, length-wise. Then, cut each chunk in quarters.
Either way, carrots come packed with a bunch of nutrients and benefits. You've probably heard by now that they're good for your eyesight, well that's just one of the many incredible benefits(1). Check out a few of our faves:
- good source of fiber (you know we love our fiber! Learn more about our prebiotic fiber here)
- high in beta carotene, which your body turns into vitamin A
- potassium - great for blood pressure control
- low in calories
This Carrot Fries Recipe uses Natural Nutralean
...but you can use our plant-based Natural NutraVegan, too! Both of our prebiotic protein powders are perfect for taking this recipe to the next level. The mixture of grated parmesan and unflavored protein powder creates a yummy, crunchy texture for your oven-baked carrot fries.
